The Bug Episode is a Phase 3 entry of North Texas Explorer. It involves multiple segments related to bugs in Texas. It begins with an interview with Summer Smith of the Science Place about their bee exhibit and leads to Devin's attempt at the Tarantula Maze.
The next segment delves into the butterflies of the Texas Discovery Gardens in Fair Park. Director of Horticulture Tina Dombrowski discusses the work they do for their annual State Fair Butterfly Exhibit. She then takes Devin on a tour of the grounds to point out the different plants they maintain and the relationship they have with local insects.
After a break Devin is back at the Texas Discovery Gardens with Gail Elia and getting an up close look at creatures like an African Millipede, a Black Widow spider, and an exotic scorpion.

Next Devin heads to Plano to check out the Cockroach Hall of Fame and Museum. After some brief background information from Austin-American Statesman columnist John Kelso, the Cockroach Museum proprietor Michael Bohdan is interviewed about his unique collection of costumed cockroaches.
He then shows off his collection of Madagascar Hissing Roaches and relates stories about his life in pest control and as a pest control spokesman.
