Houston Animal Road Trip was a Phase 2 episode of North Texas Explorer. It was a documentation of a performance of an educational program done by Doug Terranova and Animal Encounters Inc. at a Retriever Payment Systems corporate event at Houston's Aerial Theater. The program had a talk show format with the corporations' CEO Bill Higgins as the host and Terrannova and his crew as guests showing off exotic animals.
The animals that were featured included:

- a Timberwolf (who had appeared on Walker, Texas Ranger)
- an Asian Water Monitor
- two Spider Monkeys
- two Cobras
