Hody Porterfield was the host and emcee at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, TX. Always dressed in his usual buckskins, he served as an ambassador to the restaurant patrons and would go from table to table entertaining guests, sometimes by demonstrating how to start a fire by using flint.
He appeared in the Esteem video short wherein Devin & Wayne take on the 72 oz Steak Challenge. Porterfield passed away in 2016.[1]
