The Dallas Museum of Natural History was billed as "the only collections-based, research-driven public natural history museum in the region." [1]. Founded in 1936, it was one of the many Fair Park establishments heavily featured on North Texas Explorer. It appeared in the Phase 2 Reptile Day episode and was the focus of a Phase 3 episode.

In 2006 it merged with the Science Place to “create a world-class nature and science museum for North Texas.”[2] The new entity was known as the Museum of Nature & Science and was itself eventually enveloped by the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.[3]

The building currently serves as the Fair Park Visitors Center.
